Description
Each item in your team's inventory is worth a particular Gear score. As of Patch 8.5 (Season 6.5) gear score no longer has an effect on brackets and the game but the gear score is still calculated and displayed.

As of a recent update, utility items of poor and common rarities no longer count towards gear score

Notes
- Items that are both Weapons and Utilities follow the Utility rule, not the Weapon rule
- If a rarity is not listed, it means it has 0 Gear Score, or cannot drop (like non-weapon Artifacts)
Exceptions
The following are exceptions to the above mentioned rules. They are only exceptions if listed below.
If an item is not listed below it follows the above Gear Score conventions.
Misc
Misc items do not have any Gear score.
Example Misc Items:
Misc are any items that cannot be equipped by anyone such as Coin Purses, Arrows, Bolts, Treasure, Hunting Loots, etc.
History
- Hotfix 58: Experimental minimum Gear score in HR of 225
- Hotfix ? but before HF58: Brackets changed to 0-24, 24-124, and 125+ for Normals
- Hotfix 52-1: Poor/Common Utilities are now worth 0 GS. Poor/Common Weapons and Armor are now worth less GS. Brackets changed to 0-24, and 25+ for Normals, no brackets for HR
- Hotfix 46: Junk/Poor/Common Gear score decreased significantly for Weapons and Armor (specifics at the patch note page)
- Patch ?: Brackets changed from 1-199, 200-399, 400+ to 1-299 and 300+
- Patch ?: Gear Score mechanic released
