Monsters Subbosses Bosses Mimics

General Information

Flying type monsters can travel through the air and over terrain, while floating type units do not, they basically act as grounded units.

Monsters are subject to the body part damage modifier system, so hitting them in the head does more damage, while hitting their limbs does less. Rarely, monsters can have non-standard hit location modifiers e.g. Wendigo.

Unlike player characters, monsters' shields are always active, even during their attack animations.

Monsters have the ability to destroy doors with either melee attacks, arrows or fireballs.

Monster scaling

I cant find any info on this but does higher gear score affect monster hp?

anonymous | Posted on Aug 13, 2024 at 8:35 pm

It does not

Sur | Posted on Sep 6, 2024 at 4:29 pm

If you join high roller, monsters are more likely to be Elite/Nightmare, where they are much stronger. But gear score doesn't directly impact anything other than the players you face.

Armod, monsters PDR
anonymous | Posted on Jul 3, 2024 at 12:26 pm

How many armor or PDR monsters have? It is zero?

Sur | Posted on Jul 4, 2024 at 12:10 am

5th column has PDR, if you wanted specifically their armor you have to look at the https://darkanddarker.wiki.spellsandguns.com/Stats#Physical_Damage_Reduction curve

Some of the boss status effects have the tag "rmv", isnt that very old info? Cleanse cant remove anything other than allegedly warlock debuffs.

The Monster Data is up to date for HF 41 including the tags. If cleanse can not remove the debuff it is because of Cleanse's mechanics not the debuff itself.

Sur | Posted on Jul 4, 2024 at 12:11 am

Someone was able to confirm for me that cleanse still doesn't cleanse lich curse nor ghost drain, adding a note to Additional properties and considering it a bug for now.

Ghost King Earthquake

I see the page has been updated but apparently it still says in normals it does 60 damage, obviously not? Where are you guys pulling this info from? Its not 60 damage if it can kill people from full health.

Raw Salad | Posted on Mar 4, 2024 at 9:20 pm

Info is pulled from game files. Thanks for pointing this out. Sometimes the data in files doesn't reflect in-game logic perfectly and additional checks have to be put in.

For Earthquake the damage applied is 60, but it's likely hitting the player twice, instantly. Similar to how Cleric's Earthquake used to be bugged and hit for twice as much as intended. Whether the double damage is intended or not we can't tell. We will change the Ghost King value under this assumption so it's less suspect.

If anyone is willing to test this on a high HP character in Normals, it'd be greatly appreciated; I know from personal experience that the Normal GK Earthquake can be tanked past some health threshold.

I did some investigation on a barbarian with War Cry and full vigor equipment in normals.

So using War Cry I have 189 hp and also 19.3% pdr and after Ghost King's Earthquake, I had 92hp left which means 97hp damage so Earthquake truly has about 120 dmg and it is also affected by PDR.

When I used Rage instead of War Cry and decreased my PDR to -5% I had 48hp left from 175hp so the damage was 127hp.

There is no one reason not to jump at all ofc, but still, in case of a mistake or laggy servers, there is a point to take out your shield to have more armor rating or even use defence stance with barricade perk on a fighter to have even more.

Death beetle update
anonymous | Posted on Sep 4, 2023 at 8:35 pm

Death beetles seem to spawn in Inferno HR

anonymous | Posted on Dec 4, 2023 at 5:50 pm

I've never played inferno HR and I've seen death beetles in inferno HR. You'd better shape up and get your facts straight or your outta here!

anonymous | Posted on Dec 4, 2023 at 5:52 pm

Oh, crap, I meant to say that I haven't seen death beetles in inferno HR. God, why must tragedy always befall me regularly and with consistent consequence?

anonymous | Posted on Feb 1, 2024 at 11:31 am

they do spawn, near the gold / lions chest at the top of the stairs southeast of the Lich map

This is the best wiki I have ever seen

thank you guys for this wiki

anonymous | Posted on Dec 6, 2023 at 9:01 pm

do you guys know if the damage resistances are accurate. I was under the impression the skeleton champion would have strong physical resistance but this page says is -22% physical resistence.

Esthelion | Posted on Dec 9, 2023 at 10:03 am

Yes they are accurate, monsters are bound to the same stat system as players, so since some have 0 armor rating they will have negative physical damage reduction.
