Pretty sure the above is incorrect. Nearly all spells in the game that have a duration get magic damage added to the TOTAL damage over the entire duration. Only exception I think is hellfire and Flame Walker. So the 10 from the staff will instead be 2 added damage PER SECOND in reality. My whole team is pathfinder and we got matched with a guy who was 19th on leaderboards. His teammates were also pathfinder so maybe it averages it out? Higher lobbies have been feeling more empty and I feel like there is a gear average factor but that's just a guess. So lets say I have a purple staff (10 magic damage), Soul collector fully stacked (60% extra dark magic damage), 40% magical power bonus and +2 magical damage; The formula would look like this -> (((12 + 10) × (1 + 0.4 + 0.6)) + 2) = 46 damage per second which if it hits for the entire duration is 230 damage in 5 seconds (also keep in mind magic resistance, this is the damage on a target with 0% magic res).
