Hotfix 69-2
Patch Notes:
- Barbarian's Axe Specialization additional weapon damage changed from 5 → 3.
- Barbarian's Rage movement speed bonus changed from 15% → 12%.
- Clarified the gap between item rarities. (Primary attributes for items return to similar levels as in Hotfix #68.)
- Return of the removed random modifiers except for the Magical Interaction Speed/Regular Interaction Speed.
- New modifier added to unique weapons that only had 4 modifiers.
- Hunting Trap’s initial damage changed from 15 → 5, duration changed from 8/10/14/18/22/26/30 → 3/4/5/6/7/8/9.
Developer Comments: This update reverts the values of most weapons and armors to similar levels from before the hotfix #69 update. We understand that the previous changes took away much of the motivation to gain loot in the game. We have also re-added many of the secondary attributes, including additional memory capacity and buff duration, to the random modifier pool to allow for more builds. We will continue working to find the right balance between the value of gaining loot in the game and reducing the time barrier for fairer PvP. We thank you for your patience as we work on this challenge. Thank you and see you in the dungeons.

Developer Comments: This hotfix implements several changes that improves loot progression while still maintaining the progress we’ve made in lowering the PvP gear gap and the reduction of matchmaking pools for better quality matches. We have updated the damage and armor attributes so that there is concrete improvement as you move up the rarity grades. We have also updated the random modifier system with the removal of the most unpopular rolls, greatly improving the link between the number of rolls and the quality of the item. Finally, we have made several balance changes to bring the barbarian and long-range weapons down a notch. We will continue to monitor these changes to ensure that PvP feels fair across a wide range of gearscore while making loot feel rewarding. We apologize for the huge shock last week, but it was a necessary step for us to really whittle down the longstanding issues we’ve faced regarding PvP gear gap and matchmaking. We believe these changes now build a groundwork for a healthier future that can support both established and new players. Thank you for your understanding and see you in the dungeons!

Developer Comment: This update continues our quest to reduce the time commitment and grind required for players to feel as if they can compete and enjoy the game. This update brings the first step in a paradigm shift in the way we design our items. The primary attributes for almost all weapons and equipment have been flattened. The core difference between most item grades is simply the number of random modifiers. Poor items will always roll the lowest primary roll to slightly differentiate them from common items. We have also normalized most of the additional primary stats you receive from items to the epic quality items. We believe this level of item attributes grants players a wide range of diversity in building their characters and offers a satisfying combat feel. This change will also assist us with character balancing in the future as we now have a much more predictable standard for item power. We thank you for your patience as we continue our quest to bring forth a better dungeon experience. As always, see you in the dungeons!

Developer Comments: This update brings a large update to the item drop rates as we prepare for the upcoming item paradigm shift in the coming weeks. We have significantly revamped the drop rate of items to give more incentives for players to go down to the lower dungeon levels and to enter the High Roller dungeons to match the high time and risk investment. Monster and chest drop rates have also been improved across the board to give more incentive to fight and explore. High Roller bosses and special rooms now have a separate drop rate for artifacts to make it easier to target those items.
This update also includes QoL improvements with the Expressman and the release of the final batch of quests for this season. We hope you enjoy this update and see you in the dungeons!
A followup note: There are currently some bugs with the drop rates of some unique items, which will be fixed in the next hotfix.

Developer Comments: This update brings changes to the Adventure Points (AP) system to make progress a bit easier. We have heard your feedback and have re-added the ability to gain AP by interacting with lower-value monsters and chests. We have also increased the amount of AP earned for retrieving loot including treasure items. Please note that all AP earned for retrieving loot, including treasure, is displayed in the ‘Item Achieve’ score.
We have made a change to our policy regarding teaming to improve our anti-cheat/exploit process. ALL teaming, including organic teaming, is now prohibited in the High-Roller dungeons and is now a bannable offence. The High-Roller dungeons are meant to be a dangerous environment and too many unscrupulous players would hide behind the ambiguity of the previous policy to the detriment of the overall experience, thus the change in policy. We will continue to crack down on players who exploit the systems to ensure a clean experience.

Developer Comments: We are proud to introduce several key features for Early Access Season #4!
This update introduces the Religion system. Adventurers can pledge their allegiance to one of several demigods and receive their special blessings.
The update also gives players a sneak peek into the highly anticipated ‘Arena’ system. Please note that this first implementation of the Arena is an experimental version and meant only as a taste of what is to come. Many upcoming features, including an MMR system, an Arena Season, and an Arena Leaderboard will be released later this season. Currently we will be utilizing gear score to matchmake the Arenas. Please also note that the Arena will only be open during limited periods and access is limited to Legendary status accounts. During this experimental preview period, the settings and structure for the Arena may change drastically.
The original platform link feature was removed due to complications and loopholes with the various storefront policies. We are currently working on an updated platform-link feature to allow the migration of legacy Blacksmith accounts to a mainstream platform of their choice. This feature will be a one-way platform link allowing specific Blacksmith accounts (created on Blacksmith before June 6, 2024) to migrate to either a Steam or Epic Games Store account. We ask for your patience as we roll out this feature in the very near future.
Finally, we are proud to announce our first Twitch Drops campaign! The campaign starts on September 13th at 12:00 am PST and runs until September 20th at 11:30 pm PST. Please be sure to link your Twitch account through the Options Menu and hang out with Dark and Darker streamers to earn some cool new rewards. As always, thank you for playing - we'll see you in the dungeons!
