Description
Rangers in Dark and Darker are wilderness experts, who use their knowledge of nature and their keen senses to track down and eliminate their enemies. They are skilled hunters and trappers, able to set deadly traps and ambushes. Rangers are also adept at ranged combat, using bows, crossbows, bolts and arrows to take down their targets from a distance. Also they can use spears to aid them in close quarters.

- High ranged damage output.
- Able to track fresh enemy footprints via the Tracking perk.
- Able to set bear traps to lock down enemies in place.
- Starts with a campfire, however, it's of the worst quality.
- Great room clearing ability without putting themselves at risk.
- Cons
- Bad at close quarter fights.
- Needs to frequently reload their quiver.
- Limited choices for melee weapons.
- Reloading your quiver slows you down significantly.
You can equip an additional perk every 5 levels.
Currently maxed out at Level 15, so a total of 4 perks can be equipped.
Crossbow Mastery |
Increases physical damage bonus by 5% when using Crossbow (doesn't work with any other crossbow), increases reload speed by 50% and movement speed by 50% when reloading.

When moving with the bowstring drawn, movement speed increases by 10%. |

When using a bow, change your default shooting animation so it shoots 15% faster. |

Headshot damage increases by 15% when attacking with a long-range weapon. |
Spear Proficiency |
Spear can be used. When attacking with a spear, gain 10 physical strength. |
Tracking |
Detect recent enemy footsteps. |
Trap Expert |
Installation time decreases dramatically when installing trap type items. |
Crippling Shot |
Hitting the target's leg reduces their movement speed bonus by an additional 15% for 2 seconds. |
Quick Reload |
Increases reload speed by 50% when reloading bow-type weapons. |

- Excels in group fights if he has a frontline to protect him.
- Quickshot and Multishot allow you to fully replenish your quiver, you can also cancel the skill so you don't waste arrows.

Quiver system version v0.5
- Bow weapons fire a limited number of arrows before they must reload their quiver.
- The number of arrows in the quiver is based on the type of bow that is equipped.
- The Ranger’s attack-based skills have the added bonus of auto-reloading their quiver upon activation.
