Description
In Dark and Darker there are currently 4 types of currencies. Three of which can be used through Mechants and the other one is Shards that can be used to buy races and skins. Merchant currencies are Gold Coins, Silver Coins, and Event items.
Gold Coins
Gold coins are main source of income in Dark and Darker. It can be obtained through various ways and found most commonly. Gold coins allow you to purchase items off of all Mechants excluding the event merchant. Most players will use gold coins as a form of trade currency when selling or buying items.
Silver Coins
Unlike Gold coins silver coins are rarer however they are worth 3 times less than gold coins. Silver coins can only be traded to gold from Treasurer. He will trade following amounts:
- 1 Gold coin for 3 silver coins
- 3 Gold coin for 15 silver coins
- 10 Gold coin for 30 silver coins
Event Currency
Every playtest we get introduced to a different Event Merchant that sells high quality items for set amount of Event Currency. These are rarest form of currency and can be found as a rare drop from most objects. Most commonly you will found players using this currency as means to sell more expensive items to each other in trade since as of playtest #4 maximum amount of gold coins that can be fix in a trade box is 1250 gold coins. In previous playtests these currencies came in the shape of candies or miscellaneous items that represent their real life event counter parts. For example playtest #4 is candies due to significance of Valentines day and its trader being named Valentine.
