The Goblin Mage is likely the most dangerous enemy in regular Goblin caves, besides bosses and mini-bosses, despite only having two moves. (at time of writing; Early Access wipe #1)
Shoots a targeted projectile that applies a debuff that prevents healing as well as applying a movement speed debuff. The Goblin Mage will also channel small AOE heal when low or when a low hp ally comes into his vicinity, healing 200 health and buffing movement speed by 100 and action speed by 300 for 15 seconds. The Nightmare variant fires a barrage of 10 projectiles.

MOVE #1
The Goblin Mage has two abilities

* AoE buff to nearby monsters with a very long cast time


The Goblin Mage's only damaging ability is a homing, magic damage based projectile that the Mage lobs towards players.

** (Observation?) The projectile biases in a right-handed circle, so strafing left while at range might be the easiest way to avoid it.
* While in Melee:
** The projectile will never hit a player crouched directly in front of the mage.


The projectile inflicts huge magic damage (~60?) and a debilitating slow.

The projectile can be hard to dodge even for experienced players, especially at closer ranges. Common strategies are: 
 
Strafe at a medium range when the Mage begins to charge the spell OR Retreat as the mage is casting the spell OR Jump the projectile when it nears the end of its trajectory.
 
 
 
MOVE #2
 
A spell that buffs nearby Goblins, telegraphed by the Mage raising its staff in the air. The cast time is absurdly long and can't be interrupted, allowing players a huge window to easily dispatch of the Mage.
